RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
The pool lifeguard qualification is valid for 2 years and is required to be able
to obtain employment at most swimming pools.

Monthly Training for qualified lifeguards to ensure that skills and competency are
maintained.

Rescue Test for Swimming Teachers and Coaches.
This award teaches class management and practical lifesaving skills that may be needed
by anyone teaching or coaching swimming or other programmed activities in a swimming
pool. It is endorsed by the Amateur Swimming Association, The Institute of Sport
and Recreation Management, The Institute of Swimming Teachers and Coaches.

The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require employers to provide adequate
and appropriate equipment, facilities and personnel to enable first aid to be given
to employees if they are injured or become ill at work.
LLT provide the following courses under the umbrella of the Swimming Teachers Association
- home to the world's largest swim teaching & lifesaving organisation. The HSE only
accredit the First Aid at Work (FAAW) 4 day course and the FAAT refresher 2 day course.
All other courses are supplied to allow employers and individuals obtain basic skills
in First Aid appropriate to their requirements.

in First Aid at Work valid for three years.

A person who is designated to take charge when someone is injured or ill, including
calling an ambulance if required and to look after the first aid equipment, e.g.
restocking the first aid box.
